About Him

If you are a regular reader, you know that every now and then I like to showcase my husband's work! His cousin, who is also his goddaughter, just graduated from highschool this past weekend. At the time that he designed this pen for her, she was planning on attending a Catholic college. Plans changed as they sometimes do and she is going to a different school now but that's ok because the cross is still a symbol that is important to her.

Mark is new to pen turning having only learned this past winter. I was very impressed with the way he figured out this design. My role in this gift was simply the quilted sleeve for the pen using some Jennifer Paganelli "Queen Street" scraps in her favorite colors.

Mark also finished up a bookshelf for the ongoing renovation of our office room. You have seen the bench plenty. This bookshelf was made to sit beside it and hold all our photo albums and a few books too. I am not so patiently waiting for the paint to cure before filling it. It is painted "Library Red" by Behr and matches a restored Barrister bookcase that we have in the room. Next, he will build a table to sit in front of the bench. Now that it is nice weather though, our time will probably be spent on yard projects. The table might need to wait till fall.
