Happy Zip Pouches

I have temporarily sold out of all of "My Happy Place" screen printed material with the exception of two prints on linen. I will be printing more though! In the meantime, I thought I would use up some of my "scraps." Sometimes when I print a screen some of it doesn't come out well enough to sell as a complete piece but there are plenty of salvageable bits for me to use for projects. Today, I am sharing zip pouches in three styles! The zip pouch above uses the top row of houses and incorporates the plain fabric above. I created a gathered bottom to the pouch front using some DS Quilts floral. The lining is a red bottom weight cotton. All of these pouches have fusible fleece adhered to the outer fabric shell for body.

This zip pouch uses the combination I loved when creating a pincushion recently...DS Quilts and Queen Street.

The red and turquoise combination is just striking.

And finally, I have been intending to combine this print with linen for some time now. Here is a little zip pouch with natural linen and some hand embroidery.

The pouch is lined with DS Quilts apple green gingham.

Nearly Sold Out and Piecing Update

I am just popping in for a brief update and then I will resume party preparations as a very special little girl is celebrating her second birthday this weekend. Can you believe it? My baby will be two!!
Thank you all for your amazing support of "My Happy Place" silkscreened material. I am running low on my supply at the moment. I wanted to let you know that all the material that I printed has been listed in my shop. I will print more but I can't say exactly when I will get to it.

After all, I sold out of both versions of these little goldfish a month ago and have yet to print more. I have the best of intentions but time is scarce!

I've been working at piecing my vintage sheets quilt too. I am planning on a 45" square. I may add borders but I am not sure at this point. I received a gift of a few more pieces of vintage sheets from one of my favorite sewing enablers. See that pretty yellow print and the pink floral in the center of the snowballs on the left? She sent me those and they are so sweet and a wonderful addition, allowing my quilt to be a little bit bigger than it might have been otherwise.

Red and Aqua Houses

I thought long and hard about KTQuilts idea to make my little red and aqua house panel into a bed quilt and repaint one of our rooms aqua but then I decided to take the more sane approach and quilt and bind it and call it a doll quilt.

I added a little three dimensional interest with this quilted door, a take off on Nicolette's idea.

The quilt was made using 4 1/2" squares for the houses. The roofs were made by cutting 5 1/4" squares in half diagonally twice. Then I cut 2 7/8" squares in half once for the sky pieces. The finished quilt measures 20 1/2" x 24 1/2."

The backing is a cheery Michael Miller dot. It's in my shop!
